Peanut Butter Dog Treats
1 cup brown rice flour
½ cup rolled oats
½ cup water
½ cup olive oil or coconut oil
2 tbsp natural peanut butter
1 tsp baking powder
¼ cup chopped mint, optional (if you want your pup to have minty fresh breath!)
Combine all ingredients in mixing bowl until dough comes together.
Roll out between 2 pieces of waxed or parchment paper to about ¼ inch thick. Turn rolled out dough onto lightly floured surface. Cut into squares with sharp knife or use cookie cutter to make shapes.
Place on baking sheet covered with parchment paper or sprayed with GF baking spray.
Bake at 350° for 18-22 minutes until golden brown. Cool on wire rack.
Store in air tight container. I keep mine in the refrigerator so they keep longer.
Notes:
From what I understand, it’s pretty rare for a dog to have a gluten allergy. But if their human has a gluten allergy, they may not want to handle dog treats containing gluten. Even though just touching them usually doesn’t cause a reaction, but if they don’t wash their hands right away, the gluten may be on their fingers & they then risk ingesting it.
